Go Purple Today!

Today is Global Epilepsy Awareness Day! In honor of this day, the color purple is being used for a variety of things. One event for Epilepsy Awareness Day is "The Great Purple Cupcake Project". Bakeries around the country (here in NYC, I've seen it at Magnolia Bakery - http://www.magnoliabakery.com/) have put out special cupcakes decorated in purple frosting..with purple glitter..purple flowers..and proceeds are donated to the Anita Kaufmann Foundation (http://www.akfus.org/).

If your local bakery hasn't participated, you can still show your support by wearing purple and, if you can, donating to the epilepsy charity of your choice. One I've used is The Epilepsy Foundation (http://www.epilepsyfoundation.org/). And if you have the time, why not whip up some cupcakes decorated with purple frosting..or heck, even some purple cupcakes - and share them with your friends and family?
